Brian McFadden has finally confirmed the rumours - he is head over heels in love with Australian beauty Delta Goodrem.      

The ex-Westlife star admitted he fell for her last month when he watched her on stage at the Royal Variety Performance.

Brian and Kerry called it a day in September and Brian recently told the former Atomic Kitten singer he’d actually found love again:      

"It was the hardest conversation of my life, telling Kerry I was in love with someone else," Brian said.      

"It was really emotional and I think it was the first time she fully accepted it was over.      

"I don’t love her anymore and we’re not right for each other. We drifted apart."    

Depressed Kerry was later admitted to the celebrity Priory Clinic but has since returned to public life and has a new brunette image, as well as a svelte new figure.    

Brian and Delta spent the festive period together in South Africa. They first met last summer to record a duet but nothing happened between them until December.      

Brian and Kerry have two daughters from their relationship. "They are my main priority," he added.

Since Brian McFadden and Kerry Katona broke up last autumn, one or the other has been in the media weekly talking about their bitter break-up and new loves.

It’s been a tumultuous time, culminating in Kerry’s spell in The Priory. But now it appears things are calming down, with a meeting designed to clear the air.

Brian and Kerry caught up in an Irish hotel to introduce their new partners - Delta Goodrem and decorator Dave Cunningham - to each other.

It’s thought to be the first sign of a truce for the couple, who have two young daughters together.

An insider said: "This is a massive move for the two of them after what’s been an incredibly tough six months.

"They’re in love with new partners now but want to try and be friends, because that will make things easier for their children, Molly and Lilly Sue."

Brian’s relationship with Delta was initially thought to have caused the break-up with Kerry, although he denies anything happened until after he and Kerry separated.

Kerry went on to have a fling with ex-lover Dan Corsi before getting it together with Dan, who’s thought to be moving in with her and the girls.
